The Hall of Knights
![]() |
The Hall of Knights is probably the most famous part of the Binnenhof. It belongs to the medieval palace of the Counts of Holland. The oldest part of this palace is the Rolzaal, the Hall of Scrolls. |
| The second addition to the palace was the Lairessezaal, Lairesse Hall. This name was later given to the hall after Gerard Lairesse decorated it with paintings. The Hall of Knights was the largest secular hall in Europe at that time. It was built in a lavish gothical style. The only dutch throne stands in this hall. |
